Dear RPCS Upper School,
Welcome back! We have a great school year ahead of us filled with many new and exciting opportunities, the first of which is to sign up for clubs! Clubs are student-run groups that meet up to two times in every ten-day cycle. These clubs range from academic clubs like It's Academic and Model UN to auditioned groups like Hip-Hop Squad and encompass a wide variety of interests in-between. Whatever it is that you are passionate about, it is more than likely that there is a club for you.
Clubs are an excellent way to meet people with common interests from other grades. They also provide a chance to try something completely new and different. I challenge everyone to at least consider joining a club that they weren't in last year or would never have considered before. You never know, you could be a closet trivia whiz or a natural at the oboe and have no idea!
This booklet will help you in your club-joining process, it has detailed descriptions of every club as well as the days that they meet. Be sure to keep in mind while you are joining various clubs that they are a commitment. You will be expected to attend all of the club meetings just as you are expected to show up to practices and rehearsals when you join a sports team or try out for a play. Please don't let that deter you from joining clubs though, as there is a "shopping-period" in which you can figure out whether or not you would like to become an official member of the club.
