Welcome New Parents!

We are thrilled to have you as part the wonderful, nurturing and exciting community at Roland Park Country School and we are here to support you in any way that you need.  We are fortunate to welcome many new families to RPCS this year - 39 new Lower School families, 14 new Middle School, and 24 new Upper School families!  We are looking forward to watching your daughters grow and learn and we welcome each gift and talent they bring to RPCS.

We strongly encourage all families to attend the Parents' Nights for each division, Parent Grade Coffees, Parent Socials held in early October and divisional Parent Network and Parent Association meetings, which are open to all parents.  The dates for these events are posted on this site. Another great way to immerse yourselves in the RPCS community is to volunteer. There are a lot of fun, easy ways you can volunteer at RPCS.  All of the volunteer forms can be found on SchoolBase.

Each new student in the Lower School has been paired with a “Summer Buddy”, with whom she had a chance to play and get to know this summer.  In addition, we hope your daughter enjoyed the ice cream party held on August 31st, as a fun way to get back on campus and prepare for her first official day at RPCS. Your daughter’s Summer Buddy will also be a tremendous help as school begins, easing any first day jitters and introducing her to so many new classmates.  Our faculty is also very excited about welcoming your daughter to RPCS. There is always a HUGE element of excitement among our current students, as they welcome the new girls into the fold!

The new Middle School and Upper School families were also all provided with mentor families, which we hope you found helpful as your prepared for the first day of school.  These families are a tremendous source information for answering any questions you may have about carpool, lunches, advisories, athletics, or just to help you get to know the RPCS community better.  New Middle School students also enjoyed an ice cream social on August 31st, which we hope was fun and delicious! The new Upper School families and their mentor families were welcomed by a dinner provided by the mentor families at Jean Brune’s house on August 16th. New Upper School parents had a great time meeting each other and their mentor families and the girls had fun chatting with several current Upper School students. You can count on the help of your mentor families throughout the year.  You will also find your daughter’s advisor and faculty as a tremendous source of help and information.

We welcome you to the RPCS community and wish you happiness and success in the coming year!  There are so many exciting things going on at Roland Park this year, and we are honored to have your family and daughter as part of this great school.

Sincerely,
