Welcome parents and caretakers. I am delighted that you are checking my website. On this site you will find critical information about keeping your child safe on the Internet. While the Internet is a wonderful tool , there are dangers out that that you should be aware of when your child is "surfing." I hope the resources I have provided will be useful to you and your children as you help teach them how to "surf" safely.
In addition to Internet safety guidelines, you will also find some useful information about typing sites that may help your child reinforce their keyboarding skills. Being able to be an effective typist is a critical skill that our children will need as they move up in grades and then into the career world. While we do address keyboarding in my class, in order to become an effective typist, practice is needed . I would recommend that your children practice their keyboarding skills at home about 15-30 minutes a day, if possible.
I will continue to add links that I feel may be useful to you in terms of technology and Internet safety. Feel free to email about any concerns or questions you may have. My email address is  torresw@rpcs.org.

I have added a new section to my page called the Homework Playground.  Here the girls will find fun, interactive activities that help them reinforce what they have learned in math, language arts, science, social studies, p.e., art, dance, music, French and Spanish! Just click on the subject you want. To get to the homework playground, click on the yellow button below!***

Recently, I received a request from some Seventh grade students from another school. Turns out they found this page, and used it to for a cyber-security unit. At the conclusion of their project, they had found some more links that the students felt would be useful to other parents. Click on the link to see what resources they found.
