8th Grade Exams: The exams will take place on Friday, May 30, Monday, June 2, and Tuesday, June 3. Exam make-up day will be Wednesday June 4 in the morning. Each day, after exams, the girls will have a mandatory Closing Exercises Rehearsal from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. Students may remain on campus, quietly studying in the Faissler Library, if they need to, until they join After School Study Hall at 4:00. Otherwise, students may be picked up at 1:15 pm.
An Invitation from Team 7: We would like to invite parents to come and view the culmination of the “Bliss” project on Wednesday, June 4 (10:30 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 – 2:00 pm.). Each 7th grader has researched a topic of interest, and their products will be available for viewing. Students will be available to answer questions about their project as you walk through the exhibits. We believe that it will be an incredible experience and hope that you will join us.
Next year’s Parent Network: Many thanks to incoming Network Chair Amy Nalley and to all those who stepped forward to be “advisory reps”. Network reps for next year will have an organizational meeting on Wednesday June 4 at 8:00 am in the 8th Grade Science Room (Room 101).
Book Return: Thursday, June 5, is book return day! Students must return all rental textbooks to their classroom teachers by this day. Please note that families will be charged for any rental books that are not returned. In addition, books that are returned in poor condition (marked up or physically damaged) will also incur a replacement charge.
Year-End Activities: The Middle School spends the last Thursday of the school year cleaning up, returning textbooks, enjoying field day, and celebrating the year’s end with a special awards assembly in the afternoon. These events are primarily in-house celebrations for the students and teachers. At this assembly, some students, usually 8th graders, are honored with special achievement awards. Parents are welcome, but not required, to attend.
Closing Exercises: We hope to see families of 8th graders at Closing Exercises which are scheduled for Friday June 6 at 2:00 pm. Students should report to school at 1:15. All students are required to attend. Sixth and seventh graders are to be in full uniform. Eighth graders are to wear tasteful white or off-white dresses or skirts and blouses.
Summer Reading and Math Work: Summer reading and math packets will be given to students this week. These need to be completed over the summer and turned in when school begins. If your daughter misplaces her copy, she can go online for the additional information.
Standardized Testing: Please phone the MS Office if you would like to request your daughter’s ERB scores. We will mail them out early in the summer to those who request them.
