Parent Conferences and Course Recommendations: Course placements for next year will be discussed at parent-teacher conferences on April 2. Please return the colored recommendation sheet to your daughter’s advisor by the date indicated on the form. Some course placement decisions will be dependent on year-end grades. On the day of conferences, parents are invited to park in non-numbered spaces on the North Lot (formerly the tennis courts) if all spaces in the Visitors Lot and along the curb are full, but please use the Visitors Lot or street parking if at all possible. Thanks!
Private Music Lessons: The After School Music Program Registration for 2007-2008 can found by going to SchoolBase
. Registration deadline is May 1st. Contact music teacher Doug Forbes for more information.
6th Grade Echo Hill trip, April 21-25 The sixth grade will travel to Echo Hill Outdoor Learning Center during the last week of April. Students will be given packing information and health forms to bring home in early April. Please note that we are requiring that ALL MEDICINES THAT ARE TO BE TAKEN ON THE TRIP BE TURNED INTO THE NURSE’S OFFICE, APPROPRIATELY LABELLED, ON THURSDAY, APRIL 17. The director of Echo Hill Outdoor School will be here on Tuesday April 8 at 9:15 a.m. to present a slide show to the girls and answer questions; parents are welcome to attend.
New Date: Technology Open Forum, Thursday May 15, 7:00 pm: 6th grade parents are encouraged to attend this evening event to hear about next year’s laptop model and to learn about how the laptop program works at RPCS.
Eighth Grade End-of-Year Events: Parents of 8th graders should be aware by now of two celebratory occasions in honor of the 8th grade. First, a reception following the Closing Ceremonies, organized by 7th grade parents and hosted by the School, will be held in the cafeteria. Second, the Parents’ Association is organizing a trip to Hershey Park on Monday, June 9. We understand that many families will also hold their own celebratory gatherings for their daughters and small groups of friends. Please keep in mind that as with any parties to which the whole class is not invited (remember birthday parties in the Lower School?), it is important to be respectful of those who will not be attending by refraining from drawing attention to the party within the school community. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Looking Ahead: Closing Exercises: As you know, the Middle School Closing Exercises are scheduled for June 6 at 2:00 pm. All students are required to attend. Sixth and seventh graders are to be in full uniform. Eighth graders are to wear white or off-white dresses or skirts and blouses. Skirts and dresses should be somewhere in length between tea length and mini skirt; in other words, not too short and not too long. Shoes should be light in color, dressy and practical, so the girls can walk comfortably across the stage; PLEASE no flip flops!
